Cut Back
Straight run bitumen can be heated to lower its viscosity, making it more fluid for spray sealing a pavement. An alternative to heating is the addition of a solvent. When a solvent is added the bitumen viscosity is reduced temporarily. This blend is termed “Cut Back Bitumen”
Cut Back 30
Cut Back 30 is specially formulated Cut Back Bitumen Primer designed for efficient spraying and good adhesion to prepare bases and stone.
It is designed for application on low porosity surfaces to facilitate optimum penetration of the primer into the substrate.
Priming consists of spraying a primer onto the compacted gravel or crushed rock base. This is carried out to prepare the surface for the subsequent seal coat and to assist in waterproofing pavement.
Cut Back 70
Cut Back 70 is specially formulated Cut Back Bitumen Primer designed for efficient spraying and good adhesion to prepare bases and stone.
It is designed for application on highly porous surfaces to imporve improve the integrity of a loosely bonded substrate surface. The increased viscosity resists total penetration into the road and helps bond loose material hence strengthening the surface.
Priming consists of spraying a primer onto the compacted gravel or crushed rock base. This is carried out to prepare the surface for the subsequent seal coat and to assist in waterproofing pavement.
Cut Back 800
Cut Back 800 penetrating prime coats and in producing patching or stockpile mixtures. Cutback asphalt used in mixing with aggregate will usually contain an adhesion agent to assist in the coating of the aggregate surface.
Cutback agents are used to lower the viscosity of bitumen when it is applied as a primer to the surface of a road pavement aggregate base course or substrate. Kerosene is used as a bitumen cutback agent at different concentrations according to local conditions and requirements.
The cutback bitumen is ideal for prime coat and cold applied because of easy uses and no need to thinning and heating.
